THE HISTORY OF NORTANA
Founded in 1987 as NorTANA (Norwegian Teachers Association of North America), the organization changed its name to NORTANA (Norwegian Researchers and Teachers Association of North America) in 2002. In addition to winning the Akademikapris from Akademika Bokhandel in 1998, NORTANA has also conducted a number of projects to further Norwegian studies in North America. Among these are:
